Massage Therapy Can Massage Therapy Help You?
Whether you suffer from chronic neck pain, low back pain, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, pregnancy induced muscle discomfort, or anything in between, massage can be an effective therapy .
Your goals for optimal health and wellness are always the focus of the session. Together we can devise a treatment plan specific to your needs to help you attain your goals.
Your First Appointment
Your first appointment will consist of:
-
a review of your health history to be sure that your massage is safe and appropriate for your presenting condition
-
assessment of the involved joints or muscles
-
discussion of the best treatment approach for you, including areas of the body that will be worked on
The initial 15minutes will accommodate for the health history review and assessment. The remaining time will be the Massage Therapy session .
If you are booking your initial appointment using the on-line appointment book, please choose "Initial Appointment" option in the drop down menu. If you do not receive an email confirming your appointment, please text, call or email the office to be sure that your appointment time has been reserved for you.
During your Massage
Your therapist will check in with you from time to time to be sure that you are comfortable with the pressure and techniques that are utilized during the massage. Communication with your therapist is extremely important. Do not be afraid to ask questions or voice your concerns. Remember, deeper pressure is not more effective.
After your Massage
Your therapist may provide you with some homecare exercises relevant to your presenting condition. You may experience some mild muscle discomfort after the treatment which may last for a couple of days.
